Nigeria: Declare National Emergency on Road Safety, DON Urges FG

Lagos — A Professor of Transport, Iyiola Oni, has urged the Federal Government to declare national emergency on road safety, as the carnage being recorded on Nigerian roads daily had reached the level of urgent and firm action.

According to statistics, over three thousand souls were killed between January and July of 2014 due to road crashes in Nigeria, a sad development, which translates to average of fifteen deaths per day.
