Blantyre — The Association of Early Childhood Development in Malawi (AECDM) has bemoaned government failure to align the budget to policy statements as a key challenge that is creating a gap between policy intentions and actual financing of Early Childhood Development (ECD).
AECDM Executive Director Charles Gwengwe made the observation in reaction to the amount of funds allocated to Early Childhood Development in the 2014-15 fiscal year's provisional budget saying the MK65 million is the lowest allocation ever for the past four years.
