Tanzanian police on Thursday (September 18th) used force to suppress hundreds of supporters of opposition party Chama Cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (CHADEMA) after the party's leader, Freeman Mbowe, was summoned to police headquarters in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania's The Citizen reported.
Mbowe was summoned for questioning by the Director of Criminal Investigations on the charge of inciting violence, after he called on opposition party supporters to demonstrate against the Constituent Assembly sittings in Dodoma on Sunday.
