Ethiopia: Dam Contribution

Berhan International Bank S.C (BIB) has forwarded one million birr towards the construction of the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD). Kebede Chane , Minister of Trade, as well as a member of the Coordination & Public Participation for the Construction of the GERD project, received the bank's contribution from Solomon Alemseged , board chairperson of the BIB. The construction of the dam commenced in 2009 and is expected to be finalised by the end of the current fiscal year, 2016/17, and will supply 6,000MW to the national grid system.
