THERE is no debate that Dr. Steve Davis, former Canon Emeritus at the Coventry Cathedral in the United Kingdom, has created a rare slot for his name. He first drew attention of the world in 2004 when he risked it into the Niger Delta militants' den, in the oil-rich region of Nigeria. He was determined to establish physical contact with those behind the agitation holding sway then.

He was not deterred that they would have none of him. The academic Theologian had assured the aggressive boys that his visit was for real peace; still they had insisted he was for espionage. Eventually taken in, blinded-folded for days, within their swampy operational base, all was meant to rattle the sincerity of his mettle.
