Mauritania - an Employee Unfairly Dismissed As His Brother Published News Concerning the President's Son

Cairo: — The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information (ANHRI) denounces the unfair dismissal against "Al-Tijani Dahah", who works as a manager in the Port of Friendship, due to sovereign orders by the presidency.

Al-Tijani Dahah was unfairly dismissed after the director of Port of Friendship has received sovereign orders from the presidency. The orders indicated the dismissal of Dahah unlawfully. Noteworthy, this decision came one day after his brother, Hanafy Dahah- a writer, journalist and publishing official at Taqadoumy newspaper- has published a news story about the Mauritanian President's son, Ahmed Mohamed Abdel Aziz. The news story was about the president's son who did a deal with the head of Nouakchott Port to let goods, coming from South Africa, to enter the country without customs fees. It is worth mentioning that the dismissal decision was made while Dahah was on the 12th day of his annual leave, over allegations of making a blunder that his director couldn't determine it. Such a matter took place without allowing him to inquire about the reasons or even sending a written notice.
