Gambia: Observer, Others Recognised for Supporting Senegambia Initiative

Observer Company Limited, publisher of the Daily Observer newspaper and 19 other institutions and individuals were on Sunday morning awarded certificates of appreciation in recognition of the invaluable roles they have played to the success of the recent 'The Great Senegambia Conference and Symposium'.

The event, it would be recalled, was organised in The Gambia by the Senegalo-Gambian Association for Integration and Socio-Economic Development (SGAISD) from May 31st to June 1st, 2014. That maiden event that dealt with the historical perspective of the Senegambia region and the socio-cultural relations that bind the two countries and their peoples, as well as the geopolitical realities of the two nations, brought together diplomats, intellectuals, students and the media fraternity.
