Malawi: Government Keen to Retain Lawyers in the Public Service

Lilongwe — Government has said it remains keen to retain its lawyers in the public sector by improving the operations of the Legal Aid Department as it becomes a bureau.

The commitment was made by Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Samuel Tembenu Thursday in Parliament while responding to a proposal made by Member of Parliament for Salima North West Dr Jessie Kabwila for the ministry to consider introducing attractive incentives for lawyers in the Legal Aid Dept.
