Sudan: Hundreds Waiting Under Trees in Poktap for Food Aid

Bor — Hundreds of people are said to be waiting under trees, exposed to rain and mosquitoes, for food aid in Duk county's Poktap village. He said some people had walked for more than 11 hours from Pajut and other villages in the west and north of the county to reach Poktap, and were now waiting for the World Food Programme (WFP) and Catholic Relief Service (CRS) teams to arrive in Poktap village town to begin food distribution.

"People have been waiting in Poktap under trees. There are no shelters. They came from Pajut and some from other areas," said Mochnom.
