Arusha — THERE seems to be no open, public basketball grounds throughout Arusha region, something which is now said to be crippling the growth of the sport, currently being favoured mostly by the youth, in the precinct.
The Chairman of the Arusha Regional Basketball Association (ARBA) Barick Kilimba, revealed that until now, all basketball events, warm-ups and exercise depend on the Soweto grounds in Kaloleni, but these belong to the Arusha International Conference Centre and apparently the AICC management, which also own the residential housing units at Soweto, reserves the right of admission.
