According to accounts surrounding his birth as told by his mother and old relatives, he was born the same year a white man assumed duties as a District Officer in his town, Ifon, Ondo State. For that singular honour of being born the year the white man entered the town, his parents and elders of the town fondly called him Aboyinbode (one who arrived the same year the white man arrived).
