The Court of Appeal has upheld the April High Court ruling that reinstated Martin Wambora as Embu governor. Sitting in Nyeri yesterday, judges Alnashir Visram, Martha Koome and Otieno Odek upheld the April 16 ruing by judges Cecilia Githua, Hedwing Ong'udi and Boaz Olao.
Wambora was impeached by the Senate on February 13, following a motion to remove him passed by the county assembly. However, on April 16, the High Court ruled against the impeachment, reinstating the governor.
