Zimbabwe: Truant Zanu-PF Officials Face Eviction

THE Harare City Council (HCC) is planning to evict ZANU-PF officials who have been leasing council properties without paying rentals thereby prejudicing the city of huge sums of money in potential revenue. The politicians are also not paying rates and other levies and taxes. The politicians have invaded several council properties that were established to feed revenue into depleted council coffers, giving the city fathers a colossal financial beating. The total amount of money owed to council in rates for this year alone stands at about US$11 million, with those properties and commercial spaces hijacked by politicians contributing the bigger chunk.
