The US Agency for International Development (USAID), through its TBCARE project, has donated 250,000 dollars to the Oromia Regional State Health Bureau. The money is intended for the renovation and refurbishment of the Multi Drug Resistant (MDR) TB Centre, at Bishoftu Hospital.
The new renovated MDR-TB facility is expected to be a centre of excellence for the region and will deliver different services to all health care providers in the region. In addition, the centre will deliver training for health professionals in the area of MDR-TB and facilitate research on it.
