Maputo — Despite several lengthy prison sentences handed down to kidnappers by Mozambican courts, the epidemic of kidnapping in Maputo has not ended, and the latest victim is the grandson of a wealthy Lebanese businessman Ghassan Ali Ahmad.
Ahmad owns the Premier Group MICA supermarket in central Maputo. He is also the majority shareholder in Kudumba Investments, which operates the scanners in use at Mozambican ports and airports, and a partner in the furniture company Home Center.
