South Sudan: U.S. Reiterates Commitment to End South Sudanese Conflict

Washington — The United States will support South Sudan in ending its "senseless" conflict, reconciling their communities and realising the promises made to the young nation, Donald Booth, Washington's special envoy to the two Sudans said on Thursday.

Addressing the Atlantic Council on US policy for Sudan and South Sudan, Booth deplored how the ongoing conflict ended Juba's hope for recovery, despite the readiness of its citizens, vast natural resource bases as well as the regional and international goodwill.
