West Africa: World Bank - Equality Will Help Fight Ebola

Fast-spreading epidemics in developing countries are partly a consequence of poverty and inequality, the World Bank says. Increased income would lead to greater provision of resources to control diseases like Ebola.

World Bank President Jim Yong Kim is a doctor by training. When he was young, he battled highly contagious diseases among the poorest of the poor in Haiti, Peru and Lesotho.
