Algeria: Chevènement Calls for Avoiding Confusion Between 'Islam, Armed Radical Islamism'

Algiers — Chairman of Algeria-France Association, Jean-Pierre , called Saturday in Algiers for avoiding confusion between Islam and radical armed Islam, ensuring that the murder of French citizen, mountaineer Hervé Gourdel will not "tarnish" the "deep" friendship relations between France and Algeria.

"We discussed many issues related to the current context (...). We talked about the confusion that should not be made for example between Islam and radical Islam armed," Chevènement said after an audience granted to him by Speaker of the People's National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament), Mohamed Larbi Ould Khelifa.
