Kenya: Fate of Five Missing Kenyan Miraa Traders Unclear

The fate of five Kenyan miraa (qat) traders kidnapped in Lamu County on Friday by suspected al-Shabaab militants remains unclear as government authorities issued contradicting information on Tuesday (October 14th).

Kenyan Police Spokesperson Zipporah Mboroki told Sabahi Tuesday the traders were safe in Somalia "under the care of Kenyan government" and that the government was making arrangements to bring the traders back to Kenya.
