Somalia: A Car in Which a Bomb Was Planted Explodes At Afarta Jardiin

A heavy explosion took place at Mogadishu's Afarta Jardiin Junction as a luxury car in which a bomb was planted exploded. Government troops were on board the vehicle.

An eyewitness told Dalsan Radio that he saw one dead person and more than five people who sustained wounds including women who sell khat near the scene and soldiers. Different reports on the explosion are however emerging, some of them saying one of the car occupants was a senior security official. However, there are no further details regarding the casualty figures and the identities of the victims.
