Nigeria: Leave Our Jobs Alone, AGPMPN Tells Teaching Hospitals

MEMBERS of the Association of General and Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria, AGPMPN, Lagos State Branch, have urged University Teaching Hospitals across the Federation to steer clear of rendering primary health care services.

The Lagos State Chairman of the Association, Dr. Adeyeye Arigbabuwo, said the rate at which teaching hospitals have opened doors to patients with minor ailments has become worrisome to primary and secondary health care givers in the state, noting that it was high time tertiary health institutions focused on handling complicated ailments and referrals for which they are primarily designed to cater for.
