Somalia: Men Linked With Alshabaab Tried in Belgium

A French man by the name Rashiid Ben Omari was brought before a court and convicted in Belgium for crimes that he was recruiting militants for Alshabaab.

The Belga News Agency of Belgium said 41 year old Rashiid Bin Omari took four persons to Somalia so that they could join Alshabaab. The court also convicted Mustafa Bouyahbaren and Mohamed Said who are from Belgium and sentenced them to 5 years in prison each for similar crimes. The trio were extradited from Kenya in March after they went to that country in an illegal manner.
