23 October 2014

A public watchdog wants the Kenyan ambassador to United Nations Habitat Sam Ongeri and five other people prosecuted for abuse of power.

Ongeri, former Kisii clerk Samson Nyamweya, former Kisii mayor James Oriku, former minister Zachary Onyonka (deceased) and businesspeople Esther Mogaka and Ashwin Gudka "illegally acquired seven plots belonging to the defunct Kisii municipal council", said Commission on Administration of Justice chairman Otiende Amollo yesterday. Ongeri was unavailable for comment.
