Kenya: Butere School That Runs Without Rules and Prefects

Despite the soaring temperatures and a promise of rain in the afternoon, our arrival at Butere High School ushered us into an institution rivalled by none across the region. Besides the well-manicured lawn in the school, one could tell that this was no ordinary high school. On this day, Inuka Kenya Ni Sisi! in conjunction with I&M Bank were out to appreciate the marvelous work of the institution's director Priscilla Were and her staff through a one of a kind event dubbed #ButereHighTabs.

The event saw the school receive solar-powered tablets, which will enable students to access the online syllabus once it is completed, get any curriculum updates instantly and act as a one stop shop for reading on any subjects of interest. This will in turn grow their capacity to learn, as well as open up a whole new world to them.
