Nigeria: Okogie Urges Nigerians to Embrace Open, Distance Learning Education

Abuja — IN view of its efficient and cost-effective means of enhancing access to education without compromising quality, as well as the guaranteed flexibility, learner-centeredness and attendant high quality of teaching and learning interactions, all without constraints on time and space, the Executive Secretary, National University Commission (NUC), Prof. Julius Okojie has called on Nigerians to embrace the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode of university education.

Speaking at an ODL advocacy forum and roll out of General Studies (GST) e-Modules for distance learners in the Nigerian university system, Okogie maintained that there was compelling need for Nigerians to encourage this mode of study.
