Abuja — PART of the components of the five year Nigeria Industrial Revolution Plan (NIRP) of the Federal Government is to bring back the glorious days of the 60s and70s when vehicles were assembled in Nigeria. The agreement made between the Federal Government and assembling plants was not backed up by any national policy then and so there was break down of the agreement.

The main anomaly in the agreement was the inability of government to patronise locally assembled vehicles, as it continued to import vehicles for the Army, the Police and the electoral umpire then, causing the local assembling plants ran into losses.
