Nigeria: Customs Impound 19 Truckloads of Rice

Lagos — Custom operatives attached to Zone A, Ikeja, Lagos, raided warehouses allegedly owned by suspected smugglers in Oyo State and impounded 19 trucks loaded with 50 kg bags of rice.

The Comptroller, Federal Operations Unit (FOU) of the Customs, Adamu Turaki, said though operatives of the unit faced stiff opposition from miscreants and hoodlums, they were able to evacuate the consignment to Custom warehouse.
