Liberia: UNDP Hands Over Vehicles to Judiciary for Public Defenders

As part of efforts to help the Liberian Judiciary dispense justice to every sector of the country, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) presented five pickup trucks to Chief Justice Francis Kporkpor on the grounds of the Temple of Justice for use by the public defenders in four of the country's 15 counties specifically the South east to include, Grand Gedeh, Sinoe Maryland and Rivergee Counties.

UNDP's Country Director Kamil Kamaludeen presenting the keys to Chief Justice Kporkpor stated that the donation was UNDP way of strengthening the Public Defense Office to help give people access to justice in various parts of the country. "Without justice society will remain vulnerable and lack essential ingredients. Let not poverty or distance be the basis for which people are denied access to justice," said Mr. Kamaludeen
