Somalia: The Fourth Counter-Piracy Conference Held in Dubai

The fourth Counter-Piracy conference opened in Dubai on Wednesday (October 29). Around 600 delegates, including foreign ministers of various countries as well as top diplomats, naval officers and industry leaders arrived for the two-day annual conference.

In an opening address, Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister praised the efforts of the international community in tackling piracy, and underlined the importance of regional and international cooperation in fighting the root causes of piracy and tackling other related issues such as terrorism. And tackling the root causes required confronting instability on land," said Shaikh Abdullah.
