Tanzania: ICTR Acquitted Homeless After 20 Years

Arusha — TANZANIA is appealing to representatives of governments commemorating 20 years of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) to take the role of relocating eight of the acquitted and three released individuals still residing in Arusha as the tribunal winds up.

Addressing delegates, Vice- President, Dr Mohammed Gharib Bilal said the ICTR has on several occasions approached United Nations member states to relocate these individuals still residing in 'safe houses' in Arusha but to no avail.
