What opportunities can Ugandans expect from this project?

PIBID was founded by me and other 12 professors. As we set out to put into place a framework for the industrial leverage, we looked at many issues including business technology, business incubator among others. These are principally targeting the involvement of rural farming communities in processing. This industry is demand-driven unlike other industries. We looked at who was the most significant stakeholder in the industry and we thought the custodian of our food was the farmer. Over 70% of Ugandans depend on matooke for their daily diets and the custodians - the farmers - have not really benefited from the crop.
