Nigeria: Thousands of Displaced Borno Residents Relocate to Niger Republic

THE Borno State Registration Committee on Displaced Persons (BRCDP) in Niger Republic said that over 20, 000 residents of Mallam Fatori in Abadam Local Council have fled to Niger and taking refuge in Bosso town, after they were registered by the Nigerien local authorities at various border camps.

The relocation of the Borno residents, according to a BRCDP official, Abubakar Mustapha Ligari, was caused by last weekend attacks and killings at Mallam Fatori, the headquarters of Abadam Council on the shores of the Lake Chad.
