Nigeria: U.S.$3.30 New Gas for Power Price Takes Off December

Abuja — Come December, the price of gas for power generation will shoot up, according to new rates announced Thursday by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).

The price approved by the Ministry of Petroleum and NERC is now $2.50 per MMBTU (Million Metric British Thermal Units) effective next month. Gas transportation cost would also increase to $.80.
