Namibia: Police Shoot and Wound Taxi Driver

A YOUNG taxi driver was critically injured after police shot him while attempting to escape a roadblock near Otjomuise yesterday.

Junias Matheus (24) was shot on the right shoulder during a high-speed chase that involved members of the City Police and Namibian Police. He was later rushed to the Katutura Intermediate Hospital where he is receiving treatment for his wound in the Intensive Care Unit.
