Kenya: Mombasa Court Orders Investigation Into Makaburi Ally

A Mombasa court on Tuesday (November 24th) remanded Mohammed Ali Abdallah, an ally of slain Muslim cleric Sheikh Abubakar Shariff Ahmed, known as Makaburi, for 10 days so police can investigate his alleged recruitment of youth for al-Shabaab.

Abdallah was arrested Saturday at his home in Mombasa's Majengo neighbourhood without resistance, Mombasa County Commissioner Nelson Marwa told Sabahi. During the raid, police seized videos and audio recordings containing extremist materials, he said.
