Africa Rising Launch in Addis

The Africa Rising continent wide dialogue series platform on gender equality was officially launched in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia last Wednesday.

The event held at Elilly Hotel, saw the attendance of high level leaders including Femnet executive director Dinah Musindarwezo, Kenya ambassador to Algeria Moi Lemoshire, UN Women country representative Zebib Kavuma, Malawi minister of gender, children, disability and social welfare Hon Patricia Kaliati, gender director, Ministry of Planning and Devolution Catherine Muoki, UN Women deputy executive director Lakshimi Puri and former Pan-African Parliament president Getrude Mwongela aka Mama Beijing who is best remembered for being the one who flagged off the Bejing Conference in 1995.
