Nigeria: Unijos Shut Down As 11 Protesting Students Are Shot

Jos — Authorities at the University of Jos ,yesterday, shut down the institution to protect lives and property after security agents opened fire on protesting students, injuring 11 as protests over increase in school fees entered the second day.

The Registrar, Jilli Dandam, in a statement advised the students to vacate the school in order to avoid further escalation of the situation after the management met and decided that the school be closed until further notice.
