Gambia: Putting Children First in an Urban World

The Gambian leader at the weekend declared that his government would implement stern policies to punish perpetrators of child abuse and exploitation in The Gambia. In the same vein, the President said his government would ensure every child in The Gambia have access to basic education in September 2015.

These moves by The Gambia go just in tandem with what UNICEF - the United Nations' programme that provides long-term humanitarian and developmental assistance to children and mothers in developing countries - has been advocating all these years.
