Nigeria: Reckitt Benckiser Seeks End to Open Defecation, Donates Mobile Toilets

Officials of major producer of health and hygiene products in Nigeria, Reckitt Benckiser, have condemned the rising state of open defecation in the country, even as they have called for control measures to curb the menace.

Speaking at the event an event to mark this year's World Toilet Day in Lagos recently, the officials of the company said that open defecation can cause a number of diseases, including cholera, typhoid, hepatitis, polio, diarrhoea, worm infection, impaired cognitive function among other health challenges.
