South Africa: Blood-Alcohol Test Backlog Cripples the Fight Against Drunk Driving

The DA will write to both the Minister of Health, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, and Minister of Police, Nkosinathi Nhleko, to request they institute an inter-ministerial task team to investigate the major backlog of blood-alcohol tests at the three National Forensic Chemistry Laboratories in the lead up to the festive season.

Both Ministers need to account for the national labs' backlogs, what the exact reason is for the delays and how they plan to turn this situation around.
