Maputo — Mozambique's National Elections Commission (CNE) on Friday approved candidates from the country's three main political parties to stand in the by-election for mayor of the northern town of Cuamba, scheduled for 17 December.
The three candidates are Zacarias Filipe, of the ruling Frelimo Party, Leovilgildo Buanancasso, of the former rebel movement Renamo, and Tito Crimildo of the Mozambique Democratic Movement (MDM).
