Gambia: Youth Minister Wants Parents to Join Crusade Against Illegal Migration

The Youth and Sports minister, Alieu K. Jammeh, has urged parents to take their rightful roles and join the sensitisation against the 'back way' (illegal migration to Europe through deserts and high seas), which continues to claim the lives of many young Africans including Gambians.

Addressing youth and elders at different youth farms he visited as part of his five-day tour of the length and breadth of the country, the minister argued that parents should engage and dialogue with their children with a view to discouraging the risky journey.
