ASK an average Nigerian on the street today his or request from the government, topmost on the list is likely to be uninterrupted electricity supply. The general feeling is that once electricity is stable, there will be massive job creation as a result of small and medium scale businesses will boom.

The quest for stable power supply has continued to bother Nigerians for more than three decades now without any sign of improvement. The pains bore by Nigerians due to the comatose state of the power sector is better imagined. The inadequacies have cost the entire nation so much displeasure, de-industrialisation and huge capital flight.
