Liberia: Govt Loses Theft Case

The Government of Liberia has lost an Ebola rice theft case in Nimba County. After asking for more time to get sufficient evidence, state lawyers failed to provide adequate witnesses in court to win the theft case. Recently, the Liberia National Police arrested some health workers in Nimba with over 200 bags of rice and other items intended for Ebola patients in the county.

Speaking to reporters on Monday after the final verdict at the Ganta Magisterial Court in Ganta, Nimba County, Judge Nya Mantor Ben, said the Government failed to provide sufficient evidence during the trial.
