Tanzania: Werema Resigns Over Escrow Saga

THE Attorney General, Judge Frederick Werema, has resigned - effective on Tuesday. According to a statement issued by the Directorate of Presidential Communications in Dar es Salaam last night, President Jakaya Kikwete has accepted the resignation.

In his letter of resignation to the president, Judge Werema said that he has requested for the resignation as his advice on the Tegeta Escrow Account "had been misunderstood thus polluting the air".
