Namibia: Holidaymakers Show More Respect for Environment

HOLIDAYMAKERS to Namibia's central coast have over the past few years since the proclamation of the Dorob National Park shown an increased awareness and respect for the coastal environment, resulting in improvement environmental conditions.

According to the coordinator of the Namibian Coast Conservation and Management Project (Nacoma), Rod Braby, one of the main reasons for establishing the Dorob was to ensure the sensitive and pristine environment is protected against irresponsible human activities, yet at the same time permitting responsible recreation along the popular central coastal area to which tens of thousands of people flock during the holidays.
