West Africa: Settlement of Malian Crisis - Ecowas Expresses 'Gratitude' to Algeria, Hails Its 'Key' Role

Abuja — The Conference of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) expressed gratitude to President Abdelaziz Bouteflika for the "key" role of Algeria to reach a peaceful and lasting solution to the crisis in Mali.

In a final communiqué issued after the works of the 46th Ordinary Session of this regional organization held in Abuja on Monday, the heads of state and government "expressed their gratitude to President of the Republic, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, for its key facilitator role played by his country to reach a peaceful and lasting solution to the situation in Mali."
