Algeria: Intense Consultations in 2014 On Consensual Constitutional Revision

Algiers — Intense consultations were conducted during 2014 by the Presidency of the Republic with the political parties, national organizations and personalities in order to reach a consensual Revision of the Constitution.

In early May, President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika had decided to launch consultations around this important initiative. He assigned Ahmed Ouyahia Minister of State, Principal Private Secretary of the Presidency of the Republic, to carry out those consultations with various players in national politics.
