Nigeria: Youths Storm INEC, NHRC Over PVC, 2015 Polls

Hundreds of banners and placards carrying youths associations under the auspices of "#VotingForWhat" today in Abuja stormed the offices of the Independent National electoral Commission (INEC) and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) over uncertainties surrounding the 2015 General Elections.

The protesters led by the Director of Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) Idayat Hassan, Chairman of the Partner for Electoral Reform (PER) Ezenwa Nwangwu and the Head of Research, Policy and Advocacy of the Youth Initiative for Advocacy, Growth and Advancement (YIAGA) Samson Itodo lamented that the growing cloud of fundamental challenges especially the rancorous distribution of Permanent Voters Card (PVC) and the fate of the internally displaced persons is a threat to the success of the elections and that Nigerians would not accept excuses again.
