Africa: Secretary-General Holds Year-End Press Conference At UN Headquarters

With the world grpped by myriad crises - from West Africa's Ebola outbreak and the dire threats posed by ISIL and other terrorist groups, to ongoing the conflicts in Syria and South Sudan - Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is set to address reporters today at United Nations Headquarters, where he will recap the year and look ahead to 2015.

Mr. Ban is expected to touch on the highlights of 2014, which will most certainly include his Climate Summit his past September and the launch of the Organization's first-ever emergency health operation, the UN Mission for Ebola Emergency Response (UNMEER), which was set up in October in response to the unprecedented outbreak of the virus in West Africa.
